Here is an updated list of events happening in our area and where I will be over the next several months.  Whether you come to see me or are just looking for something to do, there are a lot of things happening in our area from pop-up markets to large events.

The Charmed Page Bookstore has an Indie Market every month on the second Saturday, unless specially stated otherwise. I am often one of the local authors in attendance. You can check out these markets on their website's calendar below. Riah has many planned events for the store.

Vintage Market Days of SWLA

Vintage Market Days of SELA

Southcoast Book Festival

This is the third annual event for this organization.  This years event will take place September  12th at the Lake Charles event center.  It is free to attend with many vendors, local book stores, and tons of local authors - me included-  and creators in attendance.

I have applied to the following event, although I have not yet found out if my application has been approved.  Not to mention that this night event is on the same day as the Southcoast book festival, and I may have bitten off more than I can chew here; if approved as a vendor. However,  with that being said, whether I am there or not, this masquerade ball just might be what your looking to do this fall.  Check out the details on their website  if you've ever wanted to dress up in fantasy garb, have a good meal, and dance the night away .

I do plan on attending the Louisiana Book Festival in Baton Rouge this year. It is a little earlier than the usual November time, and takes place on Halloween, so I am uncertain if I will be able to attend, but I will give it my best. This event takes place in downtown Baton Rouge at the Capital Building. The details are on their website.

Silo Under the Oaks

If you follow my blog or newsletter, you've seen me post about the silo that sits on my property, here, out in the country, beneath some very tall oak trees.  I plan on turning this old silo into a bookstore/artist store for local authors and artisans.  However, nothing against your craft, but I will only be selling clean books and art. things that don't hinder the work of God and that pays homage to the father in heaven.  I am hoping to have this open by the end of 2026, but I am uncertain as to my skill level in building and construction.  I will give updates on this as it progresses.  If you wish to read more on this silo, I have several old blog posts on its construction in my blog located in the menu on this site.
