Here is an updated list of events happening in our area and where I will be over the next several months.  Whether you come to see me or are just looking for something to do, there are a lot of things happening in our area from pop-up markets to large events.

Louisiana Book Festival

This yearly event which takes place in Baton Rouge at the courthouse, is free to the public and features hundreds of authors from traditionally published to local authors, maybe even your neighbor. So go out and support them.  This year the event

falls on Halloween. I'm unsure what this means to the literary festival but I know I will passing out candy to trick or treaters.

November 14th, 2026

Terrebonne Parish public library

151 Library Drive Houma, La. 

Books for the Bayou event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

There will be a meet, greet, and get your favorite, or new favorite author's books signed. 

The public library will be having an event featuring local authors from all around Louisiana.

This is a four hour event, and many authors are driving nearly that just for this event. So go out and make their efforts worth the journey. Check the Facebook link form more information.

November 28th, 2026

Small business Saturday at

Not Just Christmas Store located on 

  4402 Nelson Rd, Lake Charles, LA  · 

Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event ends at 4 p.m.

This event will feature a room full of different types of vendors from all over featuring their handmade goods, written stories (that'll be me), or whatever it is they are selling.  Come support local business and artisans on November 28th

December 4-5, 2026

the Dequincy Chamber of Commerce will be having 

"Dickens in the Park"

they will be featuring an ice skating rink.

There will also be vendors set up outside on both days so come enjoy some...Louisiana ice skating? I'm curious to see how this one will work.

Silo Under the Oaks

If you follow my blog or newsletter, you've seen me post about the silo that sits on my property, here, out in the country, beneath some very tall oak trees.  I plan on turning this old silo into a bookstore/artist store for local authors and artisans.  However, nothing against your craft, but I will only be selling clean books and art. things that don't hinder the work of God and that pays homage to the father in heaven.  I am hoping to have this open by the end of 2026, but I am uncertain as to my skill level in building and construction.  I will give updates on this as it progresses.  If you wish to read more on this silo, I have several old blog posts on its construction in my blog located in the menu on this site.
